Monster Hunter Wilds has a lot of features that might seem a bit obtuse at first, especially if you pay little attention to some of the tutorials in the game. If you are wondering how to set up camps all around the map, this guide will give you a quick rundown of what you need to do in order to do it at designated spots.

How to Set Up Your Camp

Simply put, camps can be set up in placed where you have discovered a designated location for them. These are shown in your map as a wooden sign icon, and their description will tell you that it is a “Pop-Up Camp Location”.

In order to set these up, you can head to that location and then equip your Camping Kit item by selecting it and using it near the designated spot. You will then have the option to Set Up Camp at the cost of a few guild points.

After confirming the set up action, you should be able to fast travel to this location and use all features of the tent like any other. One thing to note, though, is that these pop-up camps are typically not safe, which means they can and will be destroyed over time.

When this happens, you will need to either wait for it to automatically be fixed or pay a large number of guild points to get it done immediately. Unless you are drowning in guild points, which you might not be if you are reading this, then the recommended course of action is to simply wait for it.

You can also set these up through the Support Desk NPC at base camps. There, you have the option to manage all of your pop-up camps to fix or build them without having to physically be at the locations. Also, you can only have a limited number of pop-up camps at any given time.

That is really all you need to know in order to set these things up and even repair them when needed. While you are here, check out our ultimate cooking guide for beginners in Monster Hunter Wilds so you can make use of these camps whenever you need to re-buff yourself on the go!
