If you would rather not hide your character’s face in Monster Hunter Wilds, then you should probably hide it. Luckily, you can do this without unequipping it and getting rid of all the juicy stat bonuses. If you need help with this process, we have got you covered, as it can be a bit obtuse if you have not fully explored all the menus and features of the game yet.

How to Hide Your Helmet

Before we get started, you should first head back to any place where you can enter your tent. This is where the entire process will take place, and it should also be noted that you can do this with pretty much any of your armor pieces. Even your undergarments, if you really want to.

Once you are at the tent, go ahead and scroll over to the “Appearance Menu” and select the “Equipment Appearance” option. From here, you have the option of hiding pretty much any piece of armor that you are wearing at the moment, including your helmet.

Just flip the switch on the gear piece that you wish to hide and you should see the preview of your character change to reflect this. After that, just leave the tent and enjoy playing without your helmet on!

Another alternative to this is exclusive to the helmet only, and it is through the options menu. In the Options screen, under “Game Settings”, you will find the “Head Armor Visibility” setting that has multiple choices in it.

Here, you can choose to hide it at all times, and this will disregard your appearance settings. Alternatively, you can also choose to only hide it during cutscenes, which should let you enjoy your character’s facial expressions if you care to see it.

And that is pretty much all there is to it, so get out there and start hunting with the wind freely blowing on your face! There are other things you can hide through the settings as well, including other Seikrets or your weapon under certain circumstances. This should make for better screenshots if you like taking scenic pictures!

If he’s not busy working or writing on his personal blog, there’s also a non-zero chance that you stumble into him in pretty much any multiplayer game that has SEA or OCE servers. He’s pretty good at anything unless it’s a fighting game, in which case you’d probably body him.
