The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion just got remastered, and it features the same stuff that was present in the original game, including all of the unique weapons that you can earn as a reward from various quests and activities. Among these is the Witsplinter dagger, which you can get from completing a pretty straightforward quest in Anvil.

How to Get the Witsplinter Unique Dagger in Oblivion Remastered

In order to start the quest, you will need to find an NPC named Maelona in Anvil. She can either be found roaming around the city or just resting at Gogan’s House. She will tell you all about her husband and how he fell for a gang’s schemes.

This will start the quest called The Siren’s Deception, in which you will have to deal with a gang of female thieves whose victims refuse to report them because of how embarrassed they are.

Talk to Maelona again and select the “Gang” option. She will then tell you all about how her husband, Gogan, lost a family heirloom to the women in question. It was a ring that has been in her family for a long time now.

She will reward you with all of her gold if you can get it back. For more details, you can speak with her again for one last hint. She will point you towards The Flowing Bowl, which is a tavern just along the docks of Anvil.

You also have to talk to Gogan, who will be in his house. It will be marked in your map, so you should have no trouble finding him. From him, you will learn that the suspects are an Imperial and a Nord. After that, proceed to The Flowing Bowl at any time.

Once there, you will be approached by Faustina Cartia and Signy Home-Wrecker, who are the two women you are looking for. Your interaction with them will be different depending on your character’s body type.

You will either be seduced or recruited, but either way, they will ask you to come over to the Gweden Farm at 11 PM. Go there and just wait until 11 PM. The place should be marked in your map, and it is just to the southeast of Anvil.

When the time is right, the door to the house should be open. Enter it and Faustina Cartia will talk to you. This is when your character will reveal their true intentions, which will also lead to the revelation that Gogan’s ring is a fake.

You will now have to fight the gang of three women. The quest will only proceed once they are dead, so finish them off until you get the update. Soon after the fight, Maelona and Gogan will walk in wearing Anvil City guard uniforms.

They will reveal that this was all a plot to get rid of the gang once and for all. Do not leave yet. Once you get out of the building, the door to Gweden Farm will be closed for good.

Check the bodies to find the Witsplinter weapon held by Faustina Cartia. If it is not in her body, it should be somewhere on the floor.Make sure to pick it up before going outside!

Once you have it, congratulations, you are now the proud owner of a sleek dagger with a fairly unique design. One thing to note, however, is that it is leveled. This means that its stats will depend on what level range you picked it up at.

It has drain intelligence and damage magicka as its enchantments, making it mildly useful against magic users or as a simple tool for stealth attacks, which disregards its unique effects.
