Monster Hunter Wilds opens up a whole lot more once you reach high rank content and finally get the freedom to explore and hunt at your own pace. During this time, you will need to craft better gear as you start taking on tougher challenges across the vast landscapes of this region. Among the materials you will need are hunter symbols, and this guide will show you how to get some!

How to Get Hunter Symbols

Hunter symbols are resources that you can get from defeating tempered monsters, which are supposedly tougher versions of the other types of beasts that you have slain or captured up to this point.

These are some of the harder monster types you can fight in the current state of Wilds’ high rank content, though skilled players should have no issue dealing with them at all, especially if playing with a group.

All you need to do is fire up a quest for a tempered monster, and these will reward you with hunter symbols as a reward on completion. The higher the star rating of the quest, the higher tier your potential hunter symbol reward at the end.

For example, tempered monsters at around five stars will give you the lowest tier of symbol available, which is Hunter Symbol I. At the moment, the highest you can get is Hunter Symbol III, which is awarded to you after completing a seven to eight star hunt.

So, to sum it up, you just need to determine what tier of Hunter Symbol you need at the moment and then go and start up the appropriate difficulty hunt for it. Just remember that some of these will have a relatively high hunter rank requirement, with the highest at the moment being at around 41 and above.
