How to Do Bravil Recommendation in Oblivion Remastered – Ardaline Mage’s Staff Location

You’ll need to track down the Mage’s Staff for Ardaline if you want the Bravil Mages’ Guild recommendation in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.

Kud-Ei, the guild chapter’s leader, suspects that another member stole the staff. If you want the recommendation, be a pal and help out the other guild members by finding out the staff’s whereabouts!

Find Ardaline Mage’s Staff for the Bravil Mages’ Guild Recommendation | Oblivion Remastered

To start, you’ll first need to go to Bravil, of course. You can find it southeast of the Imperial City, as shown above. Once you get to Bravil itself, you can find the Mages’ Guild hall on the western side of town.

When you enter the Mages’ Guild hall, look for an Argonian called Kud-Ei. Talk to her about Ardaline, Varon Vamori, and Mage’s Staff. Kud-Ei will task you with finding Ardaline’s staff, blaming Varon Vamori for stealing it.

Next up, you need to find Varon Vamori and speak to him. You can find him roaming all over Bravil, so he has no set spot. However, tracking the quest should point you to him. Look for him in the guild hall, his house north of the guild hall, in the chapel, or at the Silverhome on the Water inn.

Once you find Varon Vamori, get his Disposition to at least 65. Then, ask him about Ardaline. He’ll confess to his crime, saying he stole the staff and sold it off to Soris Arenim in the Imperial City!

Before you follow that lead, though, return to Kud-Ei first. She’ll task you with recovering the staff, giving you some Beguile scrolls just in case.

Recovering the Staff

Now that we know of the staff’s whereabouts, it’s time to return to the Imperial City. You can find Soris Arenim’s house in the Talos Plaza District. As you can see in the map above, his house’s location appears on your map if you’re tracking the quest.

Once you enter Soris Arenim’s house, you have two options for recovering the staff.

The first option is to just confront Soris directly. Get his Disposition to at least 70 and then inquire about Ardaline’s staff. He’ll confess he has it in his possession, but he’s willing to sell it to you for 200 Gold. If you want to do things the easy way, just pay him and purchase it.

Alternatively, you can just steal the staff yourself. For that, get Soris Arenim’s Key. You can loot it from the desk upstairs or steal it by pickpocketing either Soris or his wife. Be careful, though, as Soris will likely try to trail you nonstop while you’re inside the house.

Do note, that you can also use open the basement’s door and the drawers by using Open Lock or lockpicking. However, that’s generally much harder than just getting the key.

With the key in your possession, go into the house’s basement when Soris isn’t looking. He won’t follow you into the basement, thankfully. In the basement, just look for some drawers that have books on top of them. Open them with Soris Arenim’s Key and loot the Mage’s Staff from within!

Now, all that’s left is to go back to Kud-Ei in Bravil. Give her the Mage’s Staff and she’ll return it to Ardaline, while also awarding you the Bravil Recommendation in Oblivion Remastered!
