Getting the true ending in Hades 2 takes a lot more effort than just finishing a successful run. Just like the prequel, the game comes with multiple layers to the ending.

In true roguelite fashion, there are actually several steps you’ll need to complete across multiple runs to see the real ending!

The good news is that you can actually unlock everything without spoiling the story for yourself. To help you with that, I have made this guide to show you what to do, with as few spoilers as possible.

How to Get the True Ending in Hades 2 (No Spoilers Guide)

Dissolution of Time Incatation | Hades 2

To unlock the True Ending, you first need to obtain the Dissolution of Time, an Incantation that becomes available for crafting after progressing deep into the post-game and repeatedly clearing both major routes.

Here’s the spoiler-free version of what you need to do:

  • Defeat Chronos multiple times on the Underworld route
  • Defeat Typhon multiple times on the Surface route
  • Continue progressing the dialogue and Incantations at the Crossroads
  • Unlock and craft the Dissolution of Time Incantation
  • Complete another successful Underworld run afterward

Once you meet all these conditions, the game will trigger new events and scenes that are tied to the true ending. Afterward, you just have to continue following the story normally.

We also have a guide on how to get Entropy and the Dissolution of Time to make things easier while remaining as spoiler-free as possible.

If you’re wondering if the grind is worth it or not, then the answer is absolutely yes if you care about the game’s narrative. After all, the credits sequence is just a part of Melinoe’s journey.

By unlocking the true ending, you get much more closure to her story, alongside new character interactions, as well as several important story developments.

How Long Does It Take?

You have to keep in mind that unlocking the true ending of Hades 2 is a long-term objective. In fact, even experienced players need a lot of successful clears before they can meet all of the requirements.

For most players, reaching the full ending will normally take several dozen runs. This is especially true if you engage with the game’s side content.

Fortunately, more recent updates improved the overall pacing of various post-game systems. They also added additional scenes to make the journey feel more rewarding.

So there you have it. That’s our guide on how to achieve the True Ending for Hades 2, with little to no spoilers. It’s going to take a while to achieve, as you’ll need a bare minimum of over a dozen successful runs. But at least now you know what needs to be done!
