Smoke on the Water is a new business you can own as part of the Money Fronts DLC in GTA V Online. Like other Money Fronts properties, it allows you to conduct both legitimate and illegitimate business. Launder money by night and sell (legal) weed by day! If that sounds like a fun time to you, read on to learn how to get started with this shop.

How to Start Smoke On The Water Weed Shop / Business | GTA V: Money Fronts DLC

To be able to get the Smoke on the Water shop, you’ll first need to get the new Hands On Car Wash operation. To do that, you’ll need to meet Martin Madrazo at Los Santos International Airport. You’ll get a call from him to go there, marking his spot on the map as shown above.

After your meeting with Madrazo, you’ll be able to purchase the Hands On Car Wash operation by using your in-game phone. Like most other properties, it will be available from the Maze Bank Foreclosures website on your in-game phone. It costs $1,000,000 to purchase.

Once you’ve bought the Car Wash itself, visit it and find the laptop in your office. Interact with it and you should see Expand Operation as a prompt on the top left corner of the screen. Press the button for the prompt to start expanding!

You should now see a shop with a weed leaf icon on the western part of the map, by Vespucci Beach. That is, of course, Smoke on the Water! Click on it and purchase it for $850,000 to make it yours.

As a bonus note, know that just buying Smoke on the Water will increase Weed Farm product value by 35%. Additionally, neither the Hands On Car Wash nor Smoke on the Water require you to be CEO or MC President!

Starting the Business

Now that you own Smoke on the Water, it’s time to start operating it. For starters, you just need to go to its spot on the map to check the place out.

However, unlike a lot of other properties, you don’t use the front door for this one. Instead, you have to go to the back of the building to find a highlighted door, as shown above. This will let you enter the Smoke on the Water backroom office area.

Just like the other Money Fronts properties, Smoke on the Water has a Heat meter. You can see it on the bottom right corner of the screen while in the office. It will increase as you perform illegal activities from the shop, but it decreases as you conduct legitimate business. Keep it from maxing out, as that will stop your business’ production!

To do missions, you just need to use the laptop in the office. Interact with it and you’ll get the three following mission types:

  • Weed Delivery – Smoke on the Water’s legitimate business. You’ll primarily do it to decrease the shop’s Heat.
  • Money Laundering – Work for Raf to launder money. Raises Heat somewhat but has a decent payout for you.
  • Mr. Faber Work – Help Mr. Faber’s biggest clients. Can raise Heat by quite a bit, but it’s also very profitable!

These missions are somewhat randomized, especially the Money Laundering and Mr. Faber Work ones. They involve a variety of objectives, such as having to search for a container or requiring you to find and help GJ, one of Raf’s men. Nonetheless, they’re all worth doing.

So, there you have it. That’s how to start the Smoke on the Water weed shop business as part of the Money Fronts DLC for GTA V Online. You can now enjoy owning this classic GTA V shop!
