Time sure flies, as we can all see with Fortnite celebrating the 7th Birthday of its Battle Royale mode with a new event and a bunch of new quests.
From now until October 1, 2024 (2 AM ET), you can dive into Fortnite: Battle Royale and find a bunch of birthday-themed items and decorations. Interacting with all of them isn’t just for fun, though, as there’s also a set of new quests for you to complete. Complete them all to unlock a set of festive cosmetics and get a sizeable chunk of XP!
In this guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to know to complete all of the 7th Birthday event quests in Fortnite: Battle Royale.
All 7th Birthday Quests Guide | Fortnite: 7th Birthday Event
Let’s kick things off with the easiest of all the quests in the Fortnite 7th Birthday event. For this one, you’ll just need to wish the Battle Bus driver a happy birthday at the start of a match 7 times. This is effectively the same as thanking them since the happy birthday wish replaces the usual “thank you” command. This is the input for the happy birthday wish command on every platform:
Controller (PlayStation, Xbox, Switch) – Press Down on the D-pad.
Keyboard (PC) – Press the B key
Mobile – Tap the emote button. It’s in the top right part of the screen by default.
You can only wish happy birthday once per match, so you’ll need to play 7 different matches to complete this quest. Nonetheless, it’s a pretty simple process since you just need to tap one button at the start of the match!
Throw Birthday Presents or Open Chests
To make this quest a lot easier, we highly recommend focusing primarily on just opening chests. After all, chests appear pretty much all over the place in Fortnite Battle Royale! That said, do keep an eye out for Birthday Presents since you’ll require them for other 7th Birthday quests.
Additionally, we can’t really just recommend one spot for you to find chests. There are no guarantees that other players won’t open them up first, and some chests spawn randomly on top of that. You’ll need to just explore the map and open the chests you come across. On the upside, all types of chests seem to count toward this quest.
You’ll complete the quest once you open a total of 7 chests and/or Birthday Presents!
Travel Distance While Airborne With Balloons From Birthday Medallions
To complete this balloon quest, you’ll need to first find a Birthday Present as you explore in Fortnite: Battle Royale. The tricky thing here is that these Birthday Presents are completely randomized, so there are no guaranteed spawn locations for them. You’ll need to just play normally while keeping an eye out for these buggers! Use the image above as a reference, as it shows you what they look like.
Once you find one of these sneaky Birthday Presents, pick it up and throw it. This will instantly build a present-shaped cube room wherever you throw the Present. To make things easier, we recommend throwing it at your feet so the room spawns around you.
Either way, get inside the present-shaped room and you should find a large gold Birthday Medallion floating in the air. Pick it up and you’ll instantly get a balloon on your back, with more appearing over time.
You might also find Birthday Medallions randomly on their own, although they’re even rarer than Birthday Presents.
Now all you have to do is jump with the balloon on your back. You’ll float while in the air, slowing down your fall. Travel a total distance of 777 units while floating after jumping and you’ll complete the quest!
Eat Slices of Birthday Cake
You can find Birthday Cakes in most of the key marked locations on the map. The image above shows all of the Birthday Cake locations on the current Chapter 5 Season 4 map.
Once you reach one of the Birthday Cake locations marked on the map, you’ll see a large cake with slices surrounding it. Simply consume a total of 7 slices to complete the quest. You’ll get a nice boost of XP for each slice you eat, too!
It wouldn’t be the Fortnite 7th Birthday event if we didn’t get to take a break from all the quests and fighting to eat some cake, right?
Release or Pop Balloons
This quest is best paired with the “Eat Slices of Birthday Cake” quest, explained above. You can find a lot of Birthday Balloons near every single Birthday Cake spot, making them the best spots for this quest.
Simply destroy a total of 7 Birthday Balloons to complete this simple quest. It really is as straightforward as it sounds!
Do note that you can also progress toward this quest by releasing balloons you get from Birthday Medallions. Just press the “Release” prompt shown on the screen to get rid of the balloons. However, we only recommend doing that if you already completed the “Travel Distance While Airborne With Balloons From Birthday Medallions” quest. After all, Birthday Medallions are a pain to come across!
Reveal Players by Setting Off Fireworks with the Flare Gun
Pretty similar to the “Travel Distance While Airborne With Balloons From Birthday Medallions” quest, this is one of the most time-consuming of all the Fortnite 7th Birthday quests. This is due to Flare Guns not having a set spawn location. They spawn randomly on the floor or from chests anywhere on the map. For reference, the Flare Gun looks like the image above.
Once you manage to get your hands on a Flare Gun, aim up to the sky and shoot it. The resulting fireworks will have a scan effect, revealing all other nearby players. Reveal 7 players like this to complete the quest!
