Cusith is one of the five bosses in Death’s Gambit and it looks like a large giant horse/wolf combination animal. You can find it in The Burrow area after entering via a Crash Down Point by the lower Death idol in Gaian’s Cardle. The boss fight requires the Magic Flower to reach it.
How to Reach Cusith in Death’s Gambit?
The Borrow area is located below Gaian’s Cardle where you started the game. Requires a Crash Down ability to access it but to reach the boss level you need the Magic Flower ability.
You need to make your way to the Dead Idol close to the entrance to the Rider’s passage. A quick run to the left is a white glyph. Crush Down on it to drop down on The Burrow area below.
When you land you will be on a small platform filled with more of these smaller ledges. Some of these are occupied by patrolling Hedgehogs so make sure to clear your path. As you drop down you will see these openings on the walls which are leading to the boss so hop in one of the openings on the left and kill the slime.
Defeat the hedgehogs through the small gap and loot the item it was guarding for the Aura – Fragile Courage.
When you drop down on the left you will see the Magic Flower which you will need to get to the boss area. Here you need to climb up and attack the left midway wall to reveal the hidden area. Continue to the bottom of the room and drop through the gap to access the area below. Drop down at the end of the path and head back to the left to drop down to the other chamber below.
To the left, you will find a ladder leading upwards, climb up and on the first ledge on the right you will find a Boss Journal
Climb the next ladder and eventually, you will come to a platform on the right side with a lever. Pull this to open the adjacent gate. Continuing to the ladder will bring you to the Gaian’s Cardle. Pull the lever to escape.
That’s all there is to the first part of the Burrows area. Now let’s go fight the boss.
Fighting Cusith in Death’s Gambit
Now we need the Magic Flower that we spotted earlier. Grab the Magic Flower and jump by using double jumps to climb faster to the ledge. Pull the lever to make the Magic Flower appear below to make shortcuts.
Continue right. Next, you will come across a gap in the path. Further to the right, you will come up with a dead end, so go down to the gap.
You will come across sharp spikes on the ground so use your Crash Down to clear the path. Run fast to cross them until they regenerate. Roll several times to get under the spikes on the roof and defeat the Rabbit Demon.
There will be three platforms on the roof with roots and three glyphs on the ground so you need to Crash down on the glyphs and quickly jump on the platforms until the roots appear again. There will be some options.
The right-hand path leads to the boss so before you go to the boss jump on the left path. At the end of the path, there will be a ladder to make a shortcut. Head all the way back to the right and enter the next room to run into the boss.
