Skadi is one of the 5 playable characters currently available in Death Must Die, but she might just leave you wondering what her purpose even is at first.

She’s an extremely balanced character when you unlock her, which makes her feel rather bland and boring compared to the others. So then, what really makes her unique?

In this guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about what sets Skadi apart from the other playable characters!

What is Skadi’s Purpose?

Death Must Die: What Is The Purpose Of Skadi?

Skadi’s purpose, gameplay-wise, is to be a more “balanced” melee attacker than the other characters in the game.

Avoron focuses on being resilient, Kront focuses on high damage with large attack areas, and Nixi focuses on high luck and lots of movement.

Skadi, on the other hand, is more of a solid all-rounder at the start. Her stats are pretty balanced across the board, so she’s just good at everything without really excelling in any one area.

Skadi gameplay

What really makes her shine, though, are her incredible signs! You do need to unlock those by completing specific achievements, though.

Here’s the description of all of her signs and what they do:

  • The Sign of The Wyvern: Skadi gets +16 movement speed every 3 levels, up to +160 movement speed.
  • The Sign of The Apprentice: Randomly gives +1 level to any of Skadi’s skills every 2 levels.
  • The Sign of The Cosmos: Grants Skadi’s attacks a chance to apply any status effect. Each status effect has a 6% chance of triggering.
  • The Sign of The Beast: Skadi gets a white raven summon from the start. The raven’s stats get 8 times the bonuses from summon stat boosts.
  • The Sign of The Lizard: Skadi gets +0.24 HP regeneration every 3 levels, up to +2.4 HP regen.
More Skadi gameplay

As you can see, some of these signs are absolutely incredible. The signs of the Apprentice, Beast, and Lizard are all particularly popular due to their versatility and power.

The Sign of The Beast in particular also gives Skadi another unique role amongst the characters, as it makes her ideal to play as a summoner.

So, you should now know what Skadi’s purpose in Death Must Die is! She might seem very bland until you get her signs, but she’s very much worth sticking with until then.
