The Forest: Where to Find Modern Axe | Location Guide

While you can have access to different variations of axes in The Forest, none of them even come close to the Modern Axe when it comes to damage and effectiveness. In fact, it’s no doubt the best tool you can use to chop down trees, and it also deals a lot of damage when used as a weapon against cannibals.

The only caveat is that obtaining it won’t be that easy. Let’s find out how you can do so.

Where to Find the Modern Axe in The Forest

The Modern Axe can be found in Cave 2 – Hanging Cave, specifically in the Hidden Stash Room. However, the journey to the location won’t be easy as there are lots of cannibals inside. If you’ve died in the game already, then you might already be familiar with the location as this is the exact cave where you get transported when you die for the first time.

To reach the cave, you have to make your way to the Lakeside Village. Head northeast from the village until you come across the entrance to the cave. You can easily spot this entrance as it has an effigy consisting of skulls near it.

Climb down the rope until you reach the inside of the cave. From here, go all the way straight until you find another rope that will take you down. Just continue going straight until you arrive at a room with a pool of water in it as well as two cannibals.

Deal with the cannibals as quickly as possible, then on the left side, you’ll find a skull lantern with a rope that you have to climb down. Just head straight until you come across a room containing a handful of stuff. At the very end of the room, you’ll find the Modern Axe sitting just right on top of a box.
