“Open Nesting Grounds” is one of the many Exploration Codex tasks in Throne & Liberty, and it takes place entirely in the Nesting Grounds region as its name implies.
You’ll need to face off against some of the fiercest beasts in the region, gather local plants, and find hidden lore documents. Thankfully, you have us here to make things a tad easier for you!
In this guide, we’ll help you with every objective of the “Open Nesting Grounds” Exploration Codex task.
Open Nesting Grounds Exploration Codex | Throne & Liberty Guide
There are 3 objectives for the “Open Nesting Grounds” Exploration Codex task in Throne & Liberty. As you might assume, all of them take place in the Nesting Grounds region. You can find it between Laslan and Stonegard. We’ve marked it on the map above for you.
Now, all 3 objectives can be done concurrently here. Unlike a lot of the other Exploration Codex tasks and quests in the game, there’s no set order in which to complete the objective. As such, we’ll give each objective its own section.
Gather Wild Herbs or Bloomed Wild Herbs
For this objective, you need to interact with at least 1 bundle of either Wild Herbs or Bloomed Wild Herbs. They are all over the Nesting Grounds and look like the image above.
Also pay attention to your map and minimap, as nearby Wild Herbs are marked with leaf-shaped icons.
For reference, the map above also shows all potential spawn points for Wild Herbs in the Nesting Grounds.
It’s worth noting that regular Wild Herbs and Bloomed Wild Herbs both count. The only difference is that Wild Herbs are found at all times, while Bloomed Wild Herbs only appear when it’s raining in the Nesting Grounds. Other than that, there’s no difference for the sake of this Exploration Codex objective.
Defeat Chief Terror Bird
Chief Terror Bird is an elite enemy that spawns at all the Terror Bird Nests in the Nesting Grounds. We’ve marked their spawn locations for you on the map above. You can also see them in-game by tracking the Exploration Codex task, however. They’ll appear as blue circles on the map.
Do note that the Chief Terror Bird isn’t always around. When it does spawn, though, you’ll see it marked on your minimap with a red skull icon. It’s a Level 23 enemy, so be ready for a fight! It can also knock you down, incapacitating you for a while, so be careful.
Manage to take this beast down to complete the Exploration Codex Objective.
Collect a Collection Codex Page
Lastly, you need to find and pick up any Collection Codex page within the Nesting Grounds region. The map above shows the location of all of them, but you just need to collect any singular one. These Collection Codex pages aren’t marked on your in-game map at all, so they can be tricky to find!
For example, the image above shows the Mysterious Book for the Laslan Monster Lore: Vol.4 Page 1.
