The game doesn’t explicitly tell you how many resources each beaver uses, and this knowledge might prove useful, especially during the Dry Season. So, here are the results of many experimentations done in the game, determining the exact amounts of food and water a single beaver uses.
How Much Water and Food a Beaver Uses in Timberborn
The amount of Food and Water used by every beaver depends on your difficulty setting. On hard and normal, a beaver consumes 2,4 food per day and 2 water per day. On easy, they consume 1,44 food and 1,2 water per day.
How Much Resources Do You Need Per Beaver
Now, let’s see what this means exactly. A water pump generates one unit of water every 7 seconds. A day in-game takes around 465s in real-time, meaning you’ll produce 44 units of water per day. So, one water pump should be able to supply 22 beavers every day.
Different Types of Food
Though technically, every type of food gives the same amount of sustenance for each beaver, there is a difference between how many food units you’ll get from each crop. Also, the type of food has a different grow time, so you need to think about whether you need more food or faster harvests. Here are how each type of food works:
Crop Growtime Yield Food per tile and day
Carrot 4 days 3 Units 0,75
Potato 6 days 1 Unit 0,67
Wheat 10 days 3 Units 1,5
Each farmhouse needs 2 workers and has enough space to grow 80 tiles of carrots, 120 tiles of potatoes or 200 tiles of wheat. In general, a farmhouse with 80 carrot tiles used and one water supply should be enough to supply 20 beavers.
